MST ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER RETIRES, REPLACED BY DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND MARKETING
Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) is excited to announce that Lisa Rheinheimer has been promoted to Assistant General Manager. Ms. Rheinheimer fills the vacancy of the previous Assistant General Manager, Hunter Harvath as he takes his well earned retirement. Mr. Harvath joined MST in 2003, has had numerous successes including implementing the first bus rapid transit project in Monterey known as the Jazz. Other successful projects include the Carmel Valley Grapevine Express and free fares on weekends and holidays on Salinas transit lines. Hunter will be missed for his creativity, financial acumen, and heartfelt commitment to serving those in our community in need of mobility options. His last day was August 31.
Ms. Rheinheimer joined the organization in 2014 as the Director of Planning, managing the environmental process for major capital projects, conducting planning and service studies, overseeing bus routing and scheduling; as well as leading the marketing and customer service department. In her new role, her scope of responsibility will grow to include the financial area, procurement and contract management, grants management, and facilities/capital projects. She will report directly to General Manager/CEO, Carl Sedoryk.
General Manager/CEO, Carl Sedoryk stated, “Lisa has always been a fierce advocate for public transit and has worked tirelessly to provide access and opportunity for all members of this beautiful community. There is no one better to help lead this transition, and I look forward to continuing the work of MST, and its mission with Lisa as Assistant General Manager.”
Ms. Rheinheimer has a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Affairs from the University of New Hampshire, an Executive Masters of Public Administration degree from Golden Gate University, and is a graduate of the ENO Transportation Senior Executive program.
Ms. Rheinheimer’s promotion to Assistant General Manager was effective September 1, 2019.
