Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) Partners With Monterey County Hospitality Association (MCHA) to Provide Free Bus Passes for Rancho Cielo Students

Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST), in partnership with the Monterey County Hospitality Association (MCHA) recently sponsored $5,000 worth of bus passes for the students of Rancho Cielo.

Students enroll at Rancho Cielo to complete their high school education, receive vocational training, and gain skills to become responsible, productive members of our community. Getting to school has always posed a challenge to many students. MST is doing its part to help these young people pursue their goals. Bus passes can be used to get to school, internships, work, or simply connect with friends and family. Passes can be used systemwide, anytime.

MST General Manager/CEO, Carl Sedoryk stated, “Access to transportation is access to opportunity. We are proud to partner with Monterey County Hospitality Association to support these students as they take steps to shape a better future for themselves, their families, and our community.”

“Monterey County Hospitality Association supports the Rancho Cielo Drummond Culinary Program through ongoing collaborations, career development programs, and one-on-one mentorships. Partnering with MST at the Association’s Annual Gala Fundraiser has been a wonderful way for our membership to support the hospitality industry while also giving back to the community and the students at Rancho Cielo directly”, shared Kristin Horton, Monterey County Hospitality Association executive director.

“Transportation has been identified as one of the top barriers students experience to education and employment,” says Chris Devers, CEO of Rancho Cielo. “We’re thankful to our partners at MST and MCHA for helping support our students with the means to access safe, reliable transportation to attend classes at Rancho Cielo and get to work, internships, and local community colleges.”
