Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) Conducts Analysis As It Evaluates Transit Network And Considers Re-design
MST is re-evaluating where and how often the bus should operate. Staff and consultants worked with the public to collect input through surveys, rider focus groups, and stakeholder meetings. Through these outreach efforts, a Draft Network Plan was developed, and is now available for public review at https://mst.org/coa. This plan shows what service might look like, starting in 2022.
The Draft Network Plan includes:
- Bus lines with more frequent and more direct service.
- Free, timed transfers for faster local and regional travel.
- Identification of bus lines to serve more people and jobs.
- A number of locations that would lose service.
The MST Board of Directors will receive a presentation on the Draft Network Plan at their regular Board Meeting on September 13, 2021 and will provide their feedback, if any. The public will have an opportunity to comment on the Draft Network Plan through the end of October by way of a Community Meeting and public survey. Additional details are available on the project webpage at: https://mst.org/coa.
