Line 55 Stops:
Regular One-Way Cash Fares: The following MST passes will also be honored on line 55:
Single Zone day and monthly passes are valid for one fare zone credit ($2.50 Regular, $1.25 Discount) on line 55. See MST Fares page for information about Discount fare eligibility. Regular commuters on line 55 are encouraged to apply for the Emergency Guaranteed Ride Home program. VTA InformationVTA will honor MST passes as follows: All Zone Monthly Fast Pass and All Zone Super Daypass are valid for one VTA fare credit ($1.75), valid on local bus and Light Rail services. To ride VTA express buses, pay an additional $1.75. All Zone Monthly Discount Gold Pass and All Zone Discount Super Daypass are valid for one VTA Discount fare credit, valid on all VTA services. MST will honor VTA passes as follows: Express Day Pass, Express Monthly Flash Pass or Express Eco-Pass (E) is valid for unlimited travel on line 55 and all MST services.Adult Monthly Flash Pass and Adult Local Day Pass are valid for one MST fare zone credit ($2.50). Youth Monthly Flash Pass, Senior/Disabled/Medicare Monthly Sticker, Youth Day Pass, and Senior/Disabled/Medicare Day Pass are valid for one MST Discount fare zone credit ($1.25). Line 55 connects with VTA buses at Gilroy, Morgan Hill, and all San Jose stops, and with VTA Light Rail at Downtown San Jose (San Fernando and 1st Street) and San Jose Diridon Station. For more information about VTA, visit the VTA web site. Caltrain InformationMonthly passes for at least three Caltrain zones are valid for unlimited travel on line 55 and all MST services. MST passes are not valid on Caltrain. Line 55 connects with Caltrain at Gilroy, Morgan Hill, and San Jose Diridon Station. (Note: Caltrain service at Gilroy and Morgan Hill is limited to three weekday peak commute round-trips. For Baby Bullet Express, mid-day, weekend, and other service, connect at San Jose Diridon Station.) For more information about Caltrain, visit the Caltrain web site. Amtrak InformationLine 55 will serve as the Amtrak Thruway for the San Jose-Monterey route. Amtrak will sell tickets to or from all points on line 55 only when connecting to or from Amtrak services at San Jose. Fares charged by Amtrak will be identical to those charged at the farebox by MST. Amtrak passengers may take advantage of discount programs offered through Amtrak. When boarding the line 55 coach, Amtrak passengers will be instructed to insert the ticket stub into the farebox and retain the long portion of the ticket as the receipt. Line 55 connects with Amtrak at San Jose Diridon Station. For more information about Amtrak, visit the Amtrak, Amtrak California, and Capitol Corridor web sites. Amtrak does not sell tickets at any line 55 stop except San Jose Diridon Station. Passengers may purchase tickets in advance through Amtrak’s tickets-by-mail program online or by calling 1-800-USA-RAIL (872-7245). Amtrak Connections PolicyLine 55 drivers will normally hold up to 10 minutes for late southbound Amtrak connections at San Jose. Amtrak will normally hold northbound connections up to 10 minutes for late line 55 operations. There may be exceptions on a case-by-case basis; Amtrak Thruway services are considered “guaranteed” connections and Amtrak is obligated to accommodate thru passengers ticketed as such. Any customer service issues related to tickets sold by Amtrak must be handled through Amtrak. Connections are not guaranteed or otherwise coordinated between line 55 and Caltrain or VTA services. GreyhoundMST does not coordinate schedules or ticketing with Greyhound. However, Greyhound’s San Jose station is a half-block north of the line 55 stop at San Fernando and Almaden Avenue. There is also a Salinas station one block south of the Salinas Transit Center served by MST local routes. For more information about Greyhound, visit the Greyhound web site. |
